Three factors that may influence the useful life of an asset are use over time, maintenance costs, and replacement products.

Use – When an asset is used repeatedly over time, it may be worn down and therefore does not function as steadily as at the time of first purchase. If it is a machine, for example, repeated use could cause the machine to run slower, therefore decreasing its useful life.

Maintenance costs – Also, over time, if the firm would like to keep the asset, but it is used often, it may become harder to maintain the asset’s initial condition. An older machine is likelier to break down more often, therefore increasing the cost of maintenance where it may be a more profitable investment to replace the asset altogether.

Obsolete assets – As technology progresses, there may be newer, more efficient products available to replace the asset. When an asset becomes obsolete, their residual value tends to be very little because the product is out-of-date. The value of the asset therefore must depreciate and its useful life is decreased as new assets are offered.

There went a perfectly amazing four day weekend.

Wasted on no-name temple hopping, sore butt van riding, overeating, and mosquito repellent dousing.

Never again will I go on a trip with my mother’s oh so dear newfound friends -_-

Ashley has gotten me distracted from my homework with reading Zetta Kareshi.

Why can’t guys like that exist in real life? I mean, I’m totally aware that Knight is a robot, but still! Soushi is pretty amazing too. T_T

ok ok.

back to 中文作业。 >.<

My days seem so empty. It’s a sign that I need to go to Singapore.

I seriously lack motivation to get up and go to school. It all seems so pointless now. Not even the love I have for my friends is enough to pull me out of bed. And yet I keep on going. Mainly because I know that if I miss anything, I’ll be working even harder to make it up.

Thailand is in a State of Emergency.

And yet the administration doesn’t seem to care. With one dead, 30 injured, 2 with gunshot wounds, is ISB waiting for a State of Catastrophe?

Well, if anything happens to the school buses that go downtown, I guess it will be on their heads.

Seriously. 461 Thai schools have already been shut down for three days.

—edit—

hahah i just saw someone’s msn personal message.

he’s waiting for a State of Apocalypse xD

It’s getting pretty unbearable. One month down, 11 to go. Will this really survive? Will I really get to run into your arms when we finally meet, after a three year separation?

Every time we go “swimming”, we always seem to end up camwhoring in the pool.

Great. Another coup. -_-

Protesters to be evicted from Government House before sunset

Government Spokesman Wichianchote Sukchotrat said Wednesday that protesters would be removed from Government House compound before sunset.

He was speaking to reporters at the Supreme Command at 5 pm.

He said thousands of 191 commando police and border patrol police would be deployed to force the protesters out of Government House.

He said police would first try to talk to the protesters to convince them to voluntarily leave the compound or else they would be forced out.

The spokesman said the protest inside Government House needs to be ended Wednesday as the government would have to use the place for ceremony of From Mother Day to Father Day.

He said His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will chair the ceremony inside Government House on Saturday to grant royal flags for government agencies to use as part of the celebrations.

The spokesman said the authorities need to prepare the place two days before the ceremony on Saturday.

Rather ridiculous -_- People Power Party storming Parliament (say that three times fast), amongst other buildings.
Now, I’m not saying that I want it to get violent, but if things do get out of hand, yay me. No school for a day ^^
So every morning I go online just to check the school web for good news. xDD

Here’s a bit of Hayao Miyazaki for you. I love Studio Ghibli.
The track is Flying, from Spirited Away.
Someday I’ll upload Yiruma. =)

So, I’ve been spending my last two days completely glued to the computer screen, falling in love with Ted, Phil, and Wes.
Yup, those three amazing geniuses at Wong Fu Productions. Omigosh I really want an NG shirt and a Spencer T_T.
I actually want to participate in the NG contest, but I can’t follow the guidelines. Bummer. I had a storyline planned out and everything too.

Starbucks cinnamon rolls have got nothing on Cinnabon.

IN BUSINESS!

“Organizational culture is the shared values and overall atmosphere of a corporation. This includes policies, traditions and may affect the behavior of employees within the company. It may be possible to deduce organizational culture from the use of budgeting by how strict or flexible the budget is, as well as what kind of budgeting. For example, a firm that uses zero based budgeting may not trust its employees to use a pre-set budget well and therefore requires justification for each action a department makes.”

Rain again. Rather stormy. Great way to end a Monday morning. =(

I wonder how Walnut seniors are doing on their first day. Lucky them…

jealouss..

off to TOK!

back home!!

last night was awful. I came so close to doing something that I would have regretted badly.  But it’s as if it was meant to happen sooner or later. You came back into my life again today. After I had been so glad that I wouldn’t have to go through the torture of seeing you again, day after day. I don’t know why I replied. I really shouldn’t have. Any glimmer of hope that you would somehow still be the person I once loved should have been erased from my heart. But I still typed back the reply, breaking into sobs, even after I promised myself I wouldn’t waste anymore tears on you. We’re not friends. I’m sorry. I can’t do that to myself anymore.

ความทรงจำครั้งสุดท้าย - Clash

How does McDonald’s sound?

When you think about it, college is only a year away. When I get there, how in the world am I going to support myself?

Better start now.

Preferably, I’d like to start my profession as a freelance photographer now, but there just aren’t any opportunities. I guess I’ll have to settle for MD.

Yesterday was officially the longest, yet best day of senior year.

After surviving first period of trying to teach InDesign, trying to keep my eyes open during US History, and living through limits for a second time, free period finally came around. I ended up at Michael’s, getting no work done of course xD And then the fun part started.

Binn’s birthday celebration went like this:

WALKED back to school from Michael’s.

WAITED 45 minutes for Peach at school, to the point where the PRINCIPAL walked by and asked us what the heck were we doing here.

WALKED to the paintballing arena. It was definitely a first experience. Stephanie was the first to get shot in the neck, followed by a number of minor injuries. Thank goodness for helmets. I got shot point blank and didn’t feel it until it ricocheted off of my shoulder. I gave up, however, after I got shot on one of my more feminine attributes.

WALKED to Que Pasa for dinner, where we stuffed 11 people into a booth and binged on milkshakes.

WALKED to Peach’s for Binn’s ice cream cake, where we then after watched Hot Chick. That movie definitely proved Ashley’s theory about my predicament a couple of weeks back.

WALKED back to the Nichada Terrace at 9 pm, hoping to dip into the pool. To our dismay, it was closed. So then we

WALKED to teacher housing to steal their pool, but walked around to three different ones before finally settling on a dark but empty one. By the time we actually got in, it was amost 10. From there on, talk about awkwardd. I mean, it was okay for me, since I knew them, but Dyne and Ann really didn’t feel comfortable with Michael and Boss. xD oh dear. So it was a bit of a relief once the boys left xD

WAITED for my parents to pick me up, coming from Pattaya. So by the time they came, it was around 11.

and finally PASSED OUT once I got home.

xD

I felt so sore this morning T_T

From the living room window

From the living room window

English class!

“While in the state of delusion, Ryabovitch and Aschenbach are prone to the dangerous risks of forgetting who they are and what the truth is. But while the illusions are hazardous, reality itself, as from Ryabovitch’s point of view, can be immensely disappointing. Personal experience is the determining factor that decides for each individual which world is more beneficial for existence. One can either decide whether to live happily deluded until the ultimate end or to face authenticity and reside with the individual’s own shortcomings.”

Well, if I don’t pass the exam, hopefully I can still get points for my World Literature papers.

Reality vs. Illusion

The big debate. Nowadays, I guess it’s a little more difficult to live in your own little oasis. But is what we encounter each day really reality? With the media blowing small issues out of proportion, we come to wonder what’s really going on in the world. Because, face it, even the news only works to market to it’s viewers. And viewers today only care about scandals, accidents, and the misfortune of other people’s lives. Elsewhere. I mean, I know they are relatively true stories, but the concept they are portraying to society is pretty misleading. Take airplane crashes as an example. One of those and the whole population is suddenly terrified of flying. But how often does that really occur, as opposed to car crashes? I don’t see empty roads after every time that happens.

So what is reality?

Oh no, a TOK question. What is truth? Are you sure? How do you know? Can you justify that? Is it beyond a reasonable doubt that it’s true?

Yeah.

Off to study for Mandarin.
